Introduction
Sri Lanka is today a popular tourist destination with a variety of facets to please the most discerning traveler.

The country is well known for its miles of unspoiled beaches and history that dates back more than 2000 years. This deep-rooted past, which is well documented by the magnificent archaeological remains, has contributed to the culture and life styles of the people.

A lesser known fact is that the central region of the island is a ruggedly beautiful "hill country" which arises to an elevation of about 2500 meters. The route to this area is through narrow passes between many ranges of hills with breathtaking views all around.

This mountain area of Sri Lanka is a veritable paradise for the dedicated mountain biker.

Two distinctly different areas are used for our programme-

The Kandyan hills with lush tropical vegetation, thick forests, farming villages and moderate temperatures from 20 - 25 C.

The Nuwara Eliya area with it's much higher elevation, colder temperature 10 - 20 C, temperate vegetation and tea plantations.

The totally different conditions on the programme create an interesting balance, which adds to the enjoyment of the client.

Intercity transfers are by air-conditioned motor vehicle & a backup team with truck/van for bikes is available throughout the tour, except for the areas, which are not motorable.
