Far as we can remember Sri Lanka then known as “Ceylon” was called the Pearl of the Indian Ocean, and this was not so due to any abstract reason but for the shire beauty of this island surrounded by coastal beaches as far as the eye can see. This beauty does not limit itself to just shorelines but further extends underneath the clear blue seas where lies the fascinating world of a sub-aquatic wonderland which can only be fully appreciated by snorkeling and Scuba Diving.

For sheer concentration of bird life in proportion to land area Sri Lanka has no rival.There are 426 species on the island's avifaunal list, 227 are residents of which 26 are endemic species. Additionally, between August and April there is a regular influx of about 100 migrants who seek sanctuary in Sri Lanka from the harsh northern winter.

Sri Lanka is relatively unknown in the field of Golf but surprisingly the country has three of the finest 18 hole courses in Asia. In fact the Association with Golf is more than 100 years and the Sri Lanka Amateur Golf Championship which was instituted in 1891 follows the British Amateur as the oldest National Championship in the world. The three courses are situated in Colombo, Victoria (near Kandy) nd Nuwara Eliya – Colombo at sea level, Victoria, 1500 ft above sea level and Nuwara Eliya at an elevation of 6000 ft have distinctly different terrain and climatic conditions. This contributed to the enjoyment and challenge as you could be playing Golf in three different countries.

Sri Lanka Cricket is driven by a single, all encompassing vision:
to make Sri Lanka the best cricket playing nation in the world in both forms of the game. Great progress has been made since Sri Lanka’s inaugural Test against England in 1982, including a World Cup win in 1996, but the fulfillment of our ambition will require dynamic leadership and much hard work over the coming years.

Asian Adventures Safari's fleet of vehicles are 4x4 trucks, chosen especially for their off road capabilities. The ability of our 4x4 trucks have been professionally modified to suit the terrain and climate of Sri Lanka to travel anywhere overland and have seating for 18 people, the majority of seats being inward facing, as we have found this to be more sociable. There is plenty of room to stand up and move around and the vehicles are open sided with the tarpaulin sides rolled up in all but wet weather allowing maximum visibility and enjoyment. There is also a stereo system, but feel free to bring along your own music as well.
